Peg convertible fabrics?

Are all of the peg convertible covers the same terry cloth like fabric on the headrest?

My dd tested out the black version at buybuybaby today but the headrest fabric kind of stuck to/pulled her hair. I am thinking a smoother fabric option might be more afro friendly. TIA

I think there's maybe a leatherette one? The fabric is anti-sweat/temperature control, so it's similar on most of them as it's a selling point

I have the leatherette one and I haven't seen another in person to know for sure but the headrest fabric is kind of terry feeling. It never pulls my DD's hair though. I LOVE their fabrics. It's super hot where we are in Texas and she never sweats in her seat. I might have a mild love affair with the Peg convertible... :D

I'll say one thing I have noticed is that we have white dogs and their hair sticks to the Peg terry-like fabric. I lint roll the seat here and there and you can't see the hair on my kids clothes so I just don't let it bother me because otherwise, the seat has been so great for us.

I bought a pink Peg last year and returned it because of the headrest. The headrest was black and the material seemed cheap and sort of felt like felt.

The headrest material is the same in all of them. It's called Fresco jersey. It also does down the back panel. And yes, hair gets stuck in it. :p Nothing the sticky side of packing tape can't fix occasionally. DD3 rides in two Pegs and she has a friend who rides in one and another friend who rides in two; none of the kids have complained about it pulling their hair but loose hairs do get caught in it. It doesn't build up horribly fast or anything and doesn't look like you just sat on a couch where a dog sleeps with black pants or anything. ;) We've had the one seat for a year and a half and I've packing it taped it once. It's due again.

The rest of the interior fabric is like a waffle weave on the fabric versions and neoprene like on the outside surrounding the seat. The leatherette versions have the neoprene like fabric on the interior and leatherette on the outside surrounding the seat.

I can honestly say that for us, the hair issue is very minor seeing as the rest of the seat absolutely rocks! ;)

We have a black crystal fabric one, It picks up loose hairs but as Techno says some tape every now and again cleans it up. It doesn't pull T's hair but it isn't kind to her curls at all! No matter how nice her hair is getting into that seat, she always comes out with the back of it a fuzzball, so she is all curly then a fuzz back  It's annoying, but her hair is still at that fine baby hair stage, as it is thickening up its not as bad.

Its like the opposite of our tribute, as it makes her hair sweat soo much that it curls up tighter lol.

Ok this sounds kind of like what I was concerned about. What type of curls does your dd have? My dd has very tightly coiled/type 4b and it breaks/snags on things very easily.

You know, I don't think the Peg fabric is actually pulling hair out. Hair breaks, hair comes out. The Peg fabric just happens to catch them. Hair is lost everywhere, all the time. Four females in our house and I'm always shocked at the hair caught around our vacuum cleaner. If the hair wasn't caught on the Peg headrest, it would be somewhere else in the car.

I agree its not pulling her hair out, it just looks pronounced against the black headrest. The fabric rubbing does frizz it though, I don't care too much as its still winter hat weather so we have hat hair everyday anyway, and in summer she has a hat on aswell so I still blame it on hat hair. Its def not bad enough I'd even consider changing her seat. But then I'm not that fussy about my 2year old having perfect hair all the time.

LOL Totally agree. I know my kid's curls end up being a fuzzy mess at some point during the day no matter if she's been in the seat or not. It looks cute and nicely curled for about a half hour after a bath then all bets are off. :p

I am glad I found this thread. I was getting worried about the hair I was finding on the headrest……I just lint roll and it is gone…but it was concerning me if I needed to find a new seat….love this seat!!!! Glad to know I am not the only one having this problem. If I upgraded to a leather, seat, I am guessing it is the same headrest fabric? thank you!!

I haven't even noticed the headrest was different from the rest of the seat. It does seem to collect lint I've noticed. Maybe Griffin doesn't have enough hair to notice. And we haven't used the seat all that much, but I really am liking it.

The head and backrest are Fresco Jersey on all the seats. It's supposed to keep their temps regulated better and keep them from sweating.

My daughter is super sweaty. If they had the ARB here I'd get one in a heartbeat because I love anti-sweat fabric.

I've seriously considered importing a Canadian Peg lol

My DD3's hair does the same thing in all seats. You guys are making me really want a Peg too. I have 4 convertibles and only 1 RFer though. Plus we have air vents over the seats so overheating hasn't been a problem.
