Question Nissan Versa Car Seat Recommendations

I have been researching car seats for a Nissan Versa. Currently, we have a Graco Snugride 35. My daughter is only 20lbs but is 31 inches long so she is almost at the height limit for the seat. Since the Versa is a hatchback I have been looking at seats with smaller fore aft measurements. I thought I had it narrowed down to the Clek Foonf and Diono radian rxt with the adjuster. I was doing some web searches and came across this on Nissan's website.
http://www.nissanusa.com/snugkids/ Under the Versa neither the Foonf or Radian is listed. Does it mean that these car seats are not compatible or were they not tested? I would like to keep my daughter rear facing as long as possible. She is so tiny and still not walking so I can't imagine turning her around just yet.
Thank you for any help!

Hi and Welcome!

First off, it's wonderful that you want to rear face your daughter as long as possible! It's five times safer and the Foonf and Radian are both ideal candidates for extended rear facing.
I applaud Nissan creating a program that let's parent's know what works well in their vehicles but I don't feel like that should limit you on your choices. The best way is to try it out for yourself. Amazon has free returns or if you live near a buy buy baby you can try the display in your car.
Good luck in your search!

I have a Versa Hatchback - I've installed a few seats RFing back there but neither if the two your looking at. However, I can't imagine a Radian with an angle adjuster not fitting (maybe if you need one of the front seats pushed far back). I've never seen a Foonf in person, so I can't offer an opinion on that.

Ok, I emailed them about their Carseat recommendations. I received a very strange and generic response. Then was referred to the dealership.

So it sounds like these were some carseats that were tried with the car but not an exhaustive list? So the clek and diono should be compatible? I just didn't know if there were carseats that were not compatible with a car or what not.
Sm what carseats have you tried with your versa? Were you able to sit a passenger in the front comfortably? With baby being comfortable? Currently there is not much legroom in the passenger seat with the graco snugride.
Thanks!

I haven't tried a Foonf, but a DIono will be fine. Without the angel adjuster I have a hard time sitting in front of it. It works rear and forward facing, though. A scenera also works. And I think that's all the convertibles I've really tried. But there's nothing about the belts or the seat geometry that should make seat installation difficult.

I've fit a Roundabout, Marathon, Scenera and I think at one point an Avenue? All were installed behind the driver. I'm only 5ft tall, but my mother (5'6-ish) has driven my car with the Britax seats and had no problem moving the seat back far enough to drive.

Before the convertibles, I had a Snugride. I don't have any true measurements but I feel like the Britax takes up less room from to back.

I have friends with a Versa, and they seat 3 children in the backseat in Radians. At least one was rear-facing outboard, with 2 FF middle and outboard.

In order to be on the list that Nissan prepares, a seat has to fit in every back seat seating position, in every method of installation. In the case of the Foonf, it came to market after the last fit tests were done, so it simply hasn't been tried in any of their vehicles yet by the group who does the fit tests. I've worked in a number of Versa cars and they're generally very user friendly and easy to fit car seats in to.
