Models:
DD1 has a 16" torso (or a little bit longer)
DD2 has a 14" torso
1. I took a picture of the back of the Argos and Nautilus. See the difference? THe Nautilus has red rollers that help the harness adjuster more smoothly.
2. See the huge difference in the crotch buckle size AND the crotch length? Not sure what Graco was thinking when they redesigned both for the Argos. Not to mention, it was very difficult to change the crotch buckle position on the Argos.
3. I'm in love with the Maestro--it was such a good fit for DD2. I didn't take a picture of DD1 in it b/c she is 50.2#. It's a light seat, easy to change harness heights and crotch buckle position. If I didn't have so many seats, I would totally buy this one.
4. I like the Alpha 65 for both DDs. Good fits for both. Was rather easy to adjust the head wing position.
5. Complete Air was DD1's favorite b/c of the purple butterflies.
6. TRU Associate ended the great visit on a disappointing note. After telling me all his suggestions for my girls, he went on to say that he had a 2 month old son. He loves the GN and told me that when his son is 1 year and 20# he's going to get it. He then followed that statement with "Pediatricians recommend rear facing to 24 months." I said, "Yep, I hear that rearfacing is much safer." He replied. "Yes. But I don't want to have to buy so many seats." So I recommended the EFTA. He replied, "Well, if I were to buy a seat between the infant seat and the GN, I'd buy a Britax. I'm a brand snob." Huh? OF course, I told him about nobetterdeal.com. He then told me I should work there but don't tell people about nbd.
Nautilus on the Left:
DD1 in the Argos:
Highest Setting:
Argos' tiny crotch buckle and short strap: Why Graco would make the buckle smaller AND shorter to hold a 70# child beats me:
Nautilus crotch buckle and longer strap than Argos:
DD2 in Maestro: it!
