Pics of older kids RF'ing
Someone on another board is considering turning her older child RF'ing but isn't sure if she would fit and would like to see pics. The oldest child she has found pictures of is 5, and her child is older than that

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
The oldest child I have RFing is 5 1/2, and just re-RFed after being FF since age about 20 months. I'm not sure if you want pics of her?
I know there is at least one Swedish board where you might find pics of 4-6 year olds RF. I don't think they usually keep them RF much past 4-6 over there. (Really if her child is older than 5, I wouldn't turn her unless she wants to. I re-RFed my 5 1/2 year old because she begged me to, and yes, I gave into the crying. *wince*) I bet Christine might have kids that could RF to age 8 or so, at least by height, but most kids aren't that short-torsoed.

Yes, we have been over that
She thinks her DD might want to, and wants to try it out. ![]() ETA: She is following this thread, but can't post since she's awaiting moderation.

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
Okay. If I can find my danged camera cable, I have pics on the camera right now of my 5 1/2 year old, 38-39 lb. daugher RF in a Complete Air. She's on the third of 5 height settings... But I can't get the pics off the computer right now because the childrens ate the connector cable. *grumble*
(Probably it would be of most benefit to find a Complete Air or Radian in a store somewhere and try it out, if you can. That's what got my 5 year old going-- I let her sit on the test bench and then in the car at Babies R Us in the display model of the CA, and from then on she begged to RF until she wore us down. Okay, so maybe I didn't take as much wearing down as my husband would have liked, since I think it's wicked awesome to have 3 RFers in the back of our Corolla. )

I am also looking forward to seeing yours rear faced. I might need some meds here because my own husband thinks I am nuts for wanting to switch her back to rear facing but if its even plausible, he will not change my mind. I would like him to see other older kids to see I am not crazy. Thank you and I hope the cord gets coughed up lol Samantha |

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
Ask them where it is. That always worked with Brett when he was a toddler. He always knew where he put the contraband!!

I did. The oldest one said the second one took it. The second one said the baby took it. The baby looked blankly at me, then pointed at the cat and screamed, "DAT!"

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
Well, while I'm trying to find it, here is my 3 1/2 year old. She is about 37 lbs., wears a size 5-6 shirt and size 4T pants.
![]() (Excuse the tears and dirt and snot; she was mad I was making her leave where we had been, lol!) She's in a Radian 65 with a 40 lb. RF limit here.

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
Here's my 4 yo. She'll be 5 in December. I'd have no problems ffing her if she was 40 pounds or even 35. She's just really tiny.

The picture in my signature is of my 4.4 year olds. The stats are pretty up to date.

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
Ds was 35 pounds, and 42" tall here and 4Y 2M.
He is 3 pounds heavier and 1" taller and fits exactly the same and he is 4Y 8M now. I guess it would help to add a link! http://www.car-seat.org/showpost.php...5&postcount=15

Re: Pics of older kids RF'ing
My son is 4y10m and RF in a Radian 80. He's about 36lbs and unless he has a major growth spurt he'll make it to 5.5-6.

My question to everyone here....will my daughter still be able to strap/unstrap herself in a rear facing seat? I am guessing it will be just the same as front facing. As of right now, she can get herself in and out with no problem, unfortunealy, she tries to unbuckle herself at times while I am still driving. It doesnt happen often but it does still happen. Do any of your kiddos ever unbuckle while still on the road? Samantha Last edited by joolsplus3; 09-22-2009 at 06:45 PM. |
