LATCH in center

Is there a list of cars that do allow it?

I know that my mothers sable does (it says so in the manual. I've posted it here). But I keep reading that it's rare, so maybe we could do a thread that lists which cars do and which don't. And add to it as we find more ?

Re: LATCH in center

My 2001 Ford Escape owners manual says I can use the 2 outboard latch anchors for one middle seat... but "only if the child seat instructions state that the seat can be installed to anchors that are 500mm apart..."
So that's a big fat maybe. I just use the lap belt.

DOES allow LATCH in the center:
2005 Honda Odyssey
(The 2 captain's chairs in the middle row have LATCH, and the passenger side captain's chair can be moved over into the center. The extra 8th seat that can also go in the 2nd row center does not have LATCH. The center seat in the rear row has LATCH, but the 2 outboard rear seats do not.)

Ford/Mercury and Mazda allow it if it's between 280 and 500 mm apart (11-20 inches), Britax and Sunshine Kids also allow it at those distances. Graco, Evenflo, and Cosco do not allow anything but 11 inch/280 mm distances between LATCH bars.

Does allow LATCH in center

It only has Lower Anchors in the center and Passenger side in the second row, there are no Lower anchors on the driver side. I can't remember if there are any in the third row.

The 2006 Saturn Ion has bottom anchors and top tethers in all 3 rear seating positions.

2005 Camry does NOT allow LATCH in the center. Nor does the 2003 Subaru Outback wagon.

The 2005 Nissan Quest has LATCH in the third row center position.

It also has it on the 2nd row captain's chairs, but I don't think either one can be moved to the center.

'05 Tahoe with 2nd row bench LATCH in center

I can't remember the year model but the Monte Carlo has LATCH in center

Saturn VUE, Chevy Equinox, Pontiac Torrant

Dodge '02 or '03 PT Crusier (my mom's) allows LATCH in center

Ford Escape

I'll make a list as I go at work. Since I work the fitting station at least once a month I see about 20+ vehicles in 1 day.
