Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
I was in Target yesterday and saw that they had a Mac Volo and just HAD to try it out. OMG!! I put my 44 lb 6yr old in it and she fit! AND I could push her and steer one-handed! If only I had known a stroller could do that! Alas, my girls are too old for me to buy one now. (I could still use one sometimes when shopping, but Dh says NOOOO
) Oh, well...if we DO ttc #3...I am SO getting a Mac!

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
I just bought my first Mac. Of course Dh would never let me buy brand new, but you can find them used. I bought mine from a lady on Craiglist. She wanted $75 and I offered her $60, and she took it. It has some issues but my fIL was able to fix with no prob.
Check out your local Craigslist. I'm sure one will pop up soon!! Or you could do I what I did, and post a wanted ad for one. Good luck. Just remember to try it out before you buy it, and make sure it is mechanically sound. And make sure the wheels are in great shape, because they are very costly to replace. Also make sure they are still rounded, otherwise the stroller could be hard to push. Good luck, and welcome to the family of "Mac" lovers!!

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
I have a Quest that I got this year, and like you, I was recently in Target and test drove the new Volo- I loved it so much, I ordered the orange one online with a coupon. It arrived today and I am so psyched! It has a better canopy than the Quest- and has a wider seat. So, only thing it doesn't have is a recline, which DD hates anyway at 3.5 yrs old- so no loss.
My husband thinks I am crazy when it comes to strollers- but I figure I'm a pretty low maintenance wife-NO haircoloring, NO manicures/nail wraps, NO pedicures, massages, spa treatments, heck, I don't even buy make up anymore, and I wear jeans all the time, so, I think I can spend $80 on a stroller

I love the volo!
![]() I bought it right before long trip to south east asia and DS was 35 lbs back then. And the stroller really made the long walks between gates in the airport easier. Over 3 strollers I bought for DS (travel system evenflo, chicco caddy, and volo) only volo gets the compliment from my husband. LOL. |

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
i can relate. i have a quest that i bought at BRU that was a disc. pattern so it was negotiable. i love it and it is the only one that my oldest can't escape from. he is pushing 45 lbs and it is a 55lbs limit, which is why i bought it. they also fold really small and are a breeze to push. this is by far the best stroller i have ever owned-and i have had many. i used to have a volo, but i sold it because i was stupid. i like having recline since i have 3 babes and this way i can adjust to each babe-even if they are really little.

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
Oooh yeah... I still have the Volo I bought in 2002 for my now-7 yo (she was two at the time)... Leah's a little bit small, I wish it had a recline, but it's still my favorite stroller (I've owned over a dozen!)

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
I just pushed DS around tj maxx in the triumph and then target in the volo and I cant decide which I like better!!!!! They are the same price at both places. I really dont want to pay $100 for a 'umbrella stroller' but man I need one! Right now I have a mid size stroller for long walks and a babytrend umbrella for the meseum and such. If I got a mac I would definitely get rid of both those and just use the mac. I just need to make sure I get the widest and deepest one I can find so it longs him a long time!
I can totally see why they are that much though, definitely worth every penny.

The Volo he still fit fine in last week before I sold it. Plus at his age, He didn't need the recline anyway because the mesh seat of the Volo has just enough if they happen to fall asleep. HTH |

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
Well I will have that problem with either of them, DS's head was already over the top on both of them and they didnt really offer any head support. The triumph actually seemed to fit him better depth and width wise, but the volo has a slightly taller back and I didnt like the recline feature on the triumph.

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
I *love* our Volo too - I got a brand new 2003 in 2004 and paid $70 with shipping - that stroller has worked hard since then and is still in excellent shape. I really, really want a fun color like lime or orange but DH thinks I am nuts. I did just sell my e3 so I think a splurge on a new Volo might be warranted

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
www.albeebaby.com has the 2005 (with the black hood that won't get dirty from the wheels!) in Magenta on sale.... ...(devil on your shoulder)... I'm coveting a pink fleur quest, though

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
When I saw the pink with dark hood I wanted it! I dont know if I could swing that though, I might get too many comments on him in it lol!
I wonder if it is really really pink in real life?

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
Another Maclaren convert here and loving our pink fleur Quest. It's a breeze to use and steer and very girly with the pink fleur cover. DD2 doesn't have much hair yet, and people think she's a boy all the time unless she's in her "girly" stroller. Mrs. Santa Claus at the mall, however, assumed DD2 was a boy despite the stroller pattern and her head to toe pink oufit.

BTDT!! Joyjoy has an absolutely PRECIOUS outfit when she was brand new that was baby blue with white lace and ruffles, one of those little hip-length dresses with the mnatching diaper pants. And her ears were pierced when her cord stump fell off, so the only thing "boyish" about the outfit was that it was blue. STILL people ignored the ruffles, bows in her hair, copious amounts of lace, baby blue mary janes, white lacey socks, PINK earrings, ect and said "what a cute little boy!" because she was bald.

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
My 23 month old has loads of springy blonde curls and even when he is wearing a blue shirt with a car on it, jeans and dirty sneakers people still think he is a girl and make charming comments like "he is too pretty to be a boy" or "wow, those curls are wasted on him"

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
Gregory had curls like that too - beautiful blond ringlets. He was almost two before I could bear to cut them, and of course once we cut his hair all the curl fell out.
He has a little now, but only when his hair gets really long. But of course, the boys both had TONS of hair, and Joyjoy was bald until she was nearly 18 months. lol

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
Ugh, reminds me of when I cut Leila's hair for the 1st time -- she was almost 4 & she had tight ringlet curls (not kinky or frizzy like her 1/2 sis) down to her WAIST ... now it's kinking & frizzing like crazy in the back (?!) I thought I was saving her frustration & pain by cutting it, but now it's so much more difficult to take care of *SIGH* I don't dare cut it again because she's not mature enough to take care of it herself yet (she convinced me to let her try a "loose + free" hairstyle for Thanksgiving & it was dredlocking by noon *SIGH* at least while it's long I can braid it safely & comfortably out of the way....
Here's her curls at about 7 months old ![]() 2 years old ![]() After 1st & only haircut ![]() Looks nice from the front, but the back can be horrifying, LOL!

Re: Wow! I never knew what I was missing!
which is whyt I have no intention of cutting Joyjoy's hair EVER. The bangs were self defense, but I doubt she'll keep them.
