I have to install DDs Roundabout50 in MIL's 02 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer. Is this vehicle equipped with LATCH? Does anyone know if it has a rear facing tether point? Thanks BUNCHES!

I will actually be installing it fairly soon (half hour of so) so I'll be scouring the web. Could someone please help me out? Thanks :)

Manual is here There is no mention of LATCH, just instructions given for installing a restraint using the seatbelt (which are switchable & lock at the retractor). There are tether anchors, but you'll probably need to use the d-ring for a RFing tether spot.

There *may* be a rear facing tether anchor, but I'm not positive. When did Ford buy Volvo? 1999, a google search tells me. So it's possible a 2002 Explorer has a rear facing tether anchor. Check the tracks on the front seats. It'd be on the track toward the middle of the car, and look like a metal D sticking off of it.

Not sure if it has LATCH. My manual is out in my car. I should really bring it in one of these days. LOL

No LATCH, no RF tether anchor. My dad used to have a 2002 Explorer Limited. :)

The seat tracks are super for attaching a D-ring to, though. Let me see if I can find a picture.

IN a 2002 Explorer (ignore the shelf liner. This is an OLD picture. I no longer use shelf liner.)
