We own a Honda Civic 1992, how do we make this car compatible?
I see lots of information about what car SEATS are compatible with the latch system only if they're manufactured after 2001, but what about us parents and parents to be who have cars manufactured BEFORE 2001?
We own a Honda Civic 4 door, runs wonderfully, only 82k miles, but it's obviously not LATCH seat compatible and doesn't have the necessary tethers that are required of cars manufactured after 2001. So, what do people do in this case? Not like we can afford to go out and buy a new car especially not with a baby on the way as well. |

You cannot use the LATCH anchors on your seat to install it in a non-LATCH car, but you can use the vehicle seatbelt to install a LATCH seat in a non-LATCH car. Follow the instructions that came with the seat (if you need help picking a good seat for your child, we can help you get started there), and then take it to a certified Child Passenger Safety technician to have the installation inspected.
