NBC News and other news organizations are creating a lot of hysteria over the new safety alert issued by Consumers Union in a recent Consumer Reports magazine (This report has since been withdrawn by Consumer Reports). This alert regards new tests of various infant carrier child seats. The official thread on this topic can be found here, including official responses from various agencies:
