front seat safety
My x-husband lets my 9 year old sit in the front seat of his car. I am not happy about this and would like to know if there is a law about children sitting in the front seat. Maybe if I show him it is illegal, he will not do it. Does anyone know if there is a law on this? |

In what state do you live?
Laws vary by state, but I doubt any law would prohibit a child from being in front. In some cases, there may be no other alternative for some families. The laws of physics, on the other hand, have shown that children 12 and under are safer in the back seat. This is especially the case when there is an active airbag in the front seat.
