I second that!!! And please do not forget about us Canadians--we never get any of the cool seats (at least not in a timely manner!) I LOVE my clek oto so much that I went and bough a second, even though the little guy is too small for it yet (ETA: He isn't using it yet, it is a spare for DD I guess)....but if there was a clek highback, I would be ALL over it. As it is, there is nothing here in Canada in the way of highbacks that I really love, so the sooner the better

Re: clek

We need the Oto in the US

There's a huge (and growing) need for 'three across' seats, now that people are trading in their big 'ol gas guzzlers and trying to cram all their kids in fuel efficient 5 seater cars. Britax has recently discontinued their boosters, and those were our go-to recommendations for what to buy if you needed to put two seats next to each other...now we are left with almost nothing to recommend I find my Olli works great on the wider side of my car (with a convertible seat in the middle), but on the narrower side those lovely armrests just don't mesh well, and the Oto would work perfectly.

Anyway, I just had to throw that out there...

oobr will be debuted at the ABC trade show in early September. Our first shipping date has not been finalized yet. It will be before the end of the year.
OH, and I know that there are tons of people on here looking for info, but can't attend ABC sooooo, I will be posting as much info as I can on here at the start of ABC so all of the great people here are "in the loop"

Well, we're a Canadian based company. So forgetting about you would actually be forgetting about us. Otherwise what would our kids ride in?

There are no plans to release oto in the US. Because of oobr's advanced manufacturing process and materials we can create a roomy seat that will work well in most three across scenarios. Sorry, can't say any more than that right now . . . stay tuned.

Re: clek

I am EAGERLY awaiting the Oobr! We adore our Olli, and I'm so sad we had to downsize to a small sedan that doesn't have rear headrests. My daughter can't use her beloved Zebra Olli anymore. The Oobr was already exciting, but even more so now that I hear it should work in most (or even just many) three-across situations.

Any idea how high the torso height will be with this seat to be used as a HBB? When will you start taking orders?

As the seat hasn't been released or finalized yet I'm reluctant to release any details. I will start a thread and post all the information I can on oobr in the next month or so.
We will debut oobr at the ABC trade show in Las Vegas on September 8th. We will start shipping before the end of the year (date TBA).
Sorry I can't provide more info right now.
Thanks

Re: clek

Okay, so just tell me this, if this information is in existance yet:
Will it have more seat depth than the Britax Parkway? (which tends to hit longer legged kiddos too high on the thighs)
Will it have plastic on the belt guides, like the Britax, not like the Recaro Vivo which has fabric? (the fabric makes it harder for the belt to slip through on the lap portions, which is frustrating to us both!)
Will it have nice, close head rest side wingies, keeping their little heads super safe, like both Recaro and Britax? (I have a kid with a skull fracture here, and feel nice and over protective of the noggins these days!)
Oh, and can we get it fabrics that are more heat-friendly, so my poor kids don't sweat in it, like they do the Parkway? (yeah, even with the new van with the AC in the back. At least it's better now that we have rear AC!)

And if none of that is available to the public, I understand. It's worth a shot, though! (Basically, I want a parkway with more seat depth and cooler fabrics would be a plus)

I'll do what I can.
Seat depth- Do you have those dimensions so I can make a comparison (I don't have their dimensions)
Plastic, color coded seat belt guides
oobr's head rest is one of our key safety features (can't say any more right now)
We have some very cool fabrics and color combinations, but I don't think that's what you meant I don't know the answer to that yet, but we are using a very innovative fabric that has never been done on car seats before

Re: clek

The Parkway is about 14 inches deep, IIRC. The Recaro Vivo is only about 13 inches deep, the Sunshine Kids Monterey is about 15 inches deep, the deepest booster on the market is the Graco AirBooster, 17 inches deep.

The Oobr should have 23+ inch tall shoulderbelt guides (on highest setting, measured from seating area to shoulderbelt guide; the Parkway is about 21 inches, the Frontier is a whopping 24 inches), with at least a 16 inch seat depth.

Re: clek

Yeah, the Airbooster is super comfy for Aaric, because of the seat depth. But the arm rests are frustrating for him because they leave the seatbelt extended too far out, when unbuckled, to unlock it. So he had to totally un do it and rethread it every single time. (And the oobr will have armrests, right? But I can deal if that's the only downside) And I wanted him back in something with better head support, after he broke his skull. (tether your dressers)
