installing a 3rd row seat
I have a 2002 tahoe that doesn't have a 3rd seat factory installed. Is it structurally safe to install one now? The dealer says they won't do it. Does anyone know why? |

You will have to get an aftermarket product.
Manufacturers generally do not want the liability with adding things like new seats. Here is one company that makes such a product: www.littleseats.com/ Here are some comments about their claims: groups.yahoo.com/group/CP...essage/173 groups.yahoo.com/group/CP...essage/179 groups.yahoo.com/group/CP...essage/288 groups.yahoo.com/group/CP...essage/292 Personally, I would be very reluctant to put a passenger in an aftermarket seat. I'd also be reluctant to put a passenger in any 3rd row seat that is extremely close to the rear hatch. That eliminates almost everything except extended wheelbase minivans, Suburbans, Excursions and a very few others. Darren |
