This was the topic of another recent thread at: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=37064 The gist is that it's not necessarily a problem unique to the Chrysler minivan because it has been known to happen in other models as well (including a Saturn my BIL used to own). Unfortunately, unbiased stats/sites on the subject of seatback failure (i.e., not operated by personal injury lawyers) are few and far between.
