Cute and ay yi yi. Yup, at least he thought to use his booster.
 I really wonder if he buckled himself up though. Being stuck in reverse instead of going forward may have spared him from the airbag deploying and harming him had there been a frontal collision. He was effectively RF from the description.

He may have gotten his booster, but I'd put money on he was standing up to be able to reach the pedals.

He may have just put in in reverse and the car started rolling, especially if it was parked in a driveway that was inclined.
Anyhoo, at least he had safety in mind! Glad no one was hurt.
