LATCH in Matrix

My friend is having a baby in the next few weeks, they have a Toyota Matrix, between 04 and 07. I am fairly sure that they will want to use LATCH, and I was wondering if anyone knew if it was usable in the center of the backseat.

Re: LATCH in Matrix

No, sorry, but there is no dedicated set of lower LATCH anchors for the center in the Matrix, and Toyota does not allow borrowing of the outboard lower anchors to do a center installation. A seatbelt installation in the center, or seatbelt or lower LATCH installation outboard, would be their installation possibilities.

Re: LATCH in Matrix

Nope. Seatbelt in the middle of that one. Chicco Key Fit, Graco Safeseat 1, Britax Companion, and the Combi seats will all work great with the lap/shoulderbelt in the middle of that car without them having to use a locking clip.

Re: LATCH in Matrix

Thank you very much for the information. They've already bought an eddie bauer travel system, but I'm sure they'll be able to get a really good install in their car, if not on their own, they'll ask DH or I and we've never had a problem getting a seat in their car.
