Please compare top slots in radian and apex...

They are both about 17 inches, but does one allow more room than the other? (with the toddler insert in) Ds has about 1-1.5 inches left in the radian, slightly over the top slots in our fpsv and I am trying to decide if the apex would be worth it. I do not want to use it as a booster, just as a harnessed seat. His torso measures 16.25 inches if that helps any.

Hayley is definitely too tall for a FPSVD, exactly even with the top slots of the Apex, extra padding removed, and has about an inch to go in a Radian.

Radian also allows the shoulders to go up to 1 inch above the top harness slot (no other traidtional seats allow that right now) so you get a little more growing room in that seat.

I think the radian top slot is 17.5 inches compared to the apex's 17 inches, so the radian could actually be used up to 18.5 inches.

Thanks,
I have a radian and it works great for Ds. I need another seat and I keep throwing around the idea of getting an apex. Doesn't sound like he will have any growing room though.

I guess I will go back to my 86Y plan....

I believe the Marathon also allows this until the tops of the ears are even with the shell. I'm asking about this in another thread, because I'm not sure of the interpretation.
