Online Scenera manual?

Is the Scenera manual online? It's the spare seat we have at my parents', and no one can find the maanual. It was reinstalled by the same tech who did my Marathon, and it feels awfully loose to me, so I want to redo it, but want the manual for that. Thanks!

I don't know if the Scenera instructions are available on CD yet. If so, it's possible one of the techs around here could e-mail the appropriate set to you a little faster.

In what way does the seat feel too loose? Is it rear facing or front facing?

Re: Online Scenera manual?

Vehicle year, make, model & which direction the seat is facing will help us help you

In all fairness, I suggest calling the tech back to explain that it's too loose. You don't have to make another appointment (assuming you're capable of fixing the problem), but maybe s/he will make sure to try harder next time to get it right....

Re: Online Scenera manual?

It's rear-facing in a 2002 Santa Fe, outboard passenger side, installed with a seat belt. I'm not wild about going back to the tech--he was very nice and I liked him a lot, but he did a few things that gave me pause--insisted my MA needed to be at a 45 degree angle for dd (20 months), put a locking clip on the MA, put the harness through the very bottom slots on both seats (on the Scenera, these were down by the small of dd's back), b/c he said that in a rf seat they needed to be in the bottom slots, and in a ff seat they needed to be in the top slots. Period. So I had to fix the MA already (see my "am I dumber than the monkey" thread).

Re: Online Scenera manual?

Well, this isn't necessarily from the manual, but I'll give you a few tips I use to get mine in tight.

-it's an suv, so you should have plenty of room to manuver around the seat. I usually climb in behind it and press my hips into the back. This leaves both hands free to mess with the belt since I'm not trying to balance (unlike when I try to kneel on it).

- Although it's not fun to get back on, I almost always have to remove the cover. I get a much tighter install if I pull the cover up over the belt path and pull it tight across there as opposed to pulling from either the latchplate or retractor side. This also keeps it from leaning to the side.

- I use a 3 noodle pyramid, but my seat has a good bit of incline to it. The back of that seat is so steep, I can't imagine doing it without any. I'm sure it's possible, but someone else might need to give you some tips on that.

Anything specifically you need?

Re: Online Scenera manual?

Where abouts is the seat loose? Is it loose if you pull on the seat at the belt path? The Scenera doesn't tether rf'ing like the MA, so it's normal to have movement at the top of the seat shell as well as at the back of it (where babies bum sits.) What matters is that there's less than 1" of wiggle room at the belt path.

So depending on where you're looking, it might be possible that it is in tight enough. Although given your experience with the tech, who knows...
