Graco turbo booster, if no headrest
We just got a 2002 Ford Expredition. My 5 yo (51" tall, 70 lbs) is in a Graco Turbo Booster. The back seat of the Expedition does not have headrests. It just looks unsafe having her back there....I should mention that the back is extended as far as it will go. I am afraid if we were in an accident, it would break and cause her more injury. I currently have her in the middle row and the 3 yo in the back, but it is a pain to reach back there to buckle her and she wants her sister to sit with her. (We have 3 carseats and the booster to install, so someone has to be in the back...in our old van the 2 girls were in the back.) My question is....is the Turbo booster safe without the headrest or is there another option for her?
Thanks in advance, Tish |

Re: Graco turbo booster, if no headrest
Most high backed boosters, including the Graco Turbo series, can be used in seating positions that do not provide adequate head support on their own. In fact, we recommend using a high backed booster in those seating positions, to protect the child from whiplash.
There are a few HBBs that cannot be used in seating positions without head rests. As far as I know, they're all made by Cosco. Regardless, I know for sure that the Turbo can be used in that situation, so you're good to go.

Re: Graco turbo booster, if no headrest
Since she's a VERY tall girl, you might want too look at a taller booster, like the Graco Air Booster, Britax Parkway, or Britax Monarch, those are taller than the Turbo, and are also wider and more comfortable in the seat (Am I reading that right? your 5 yo is 51 inches and 70 pounds... my almost 8 yo is only that tall and 50 pounds!)
