99 Honda Civic SE 4 dr & Radian or AO?

Anyone try either of these seats in this type car? I have a friend who is considering getting a 3-in 1 for her little one when the carrier is outgrown. I'd like to direct her towards the radian, but I'm not sure how it'll fit in her car and she's a ways away from me.

TIA.

Re: 99 Honda Civic SE 4 dr & Radian or AO?

My parents have an AOE in their 2001 Civic, but it's always been FF. It's a good fit, no base, ALR belts ouboard. It was put in by techs so I know it's a good fit. For whatever that's worth.

I will be putting in a Radian FF soon and then in September putting in the AOE RF, but that won't help you any. Sorry.

Re: 99 Honda Civic SE 4 dr & Radian or AO?

I have gotten a good install with both those seats in a '96 Accord! The AO I have done both RF and FF outboard with rock solid installs and the Radian FF in the middle with a solid install and outboard with a ok install. That might not help but they are similar cars made by the same company.

I have a friend who has the AO and a '00 civic and has gotten good install with it both RF and FF.

Re: 99 Honda Civic SE 4 dr & Radian or AO?

Thanks guys. Anyone know what model years of the Civic fall into the same design or when they were redesigned?

I know my friend has really angled seats from what she's told me. I'm not sure if she has switchable retractor seatbelts or not - I know she used a locking clip for their infant seat, but that doesn't mean there isn't a switchable retractor...

Re: 99 Honda Civic SE 4 dr & Radian or AO?

I would think that the seat belts would have locked after being pulled out all the way but that could have caused the SR to tip causing reason to use the locking clip

Yeah, I'm really not sure. I've only been in touch with her briefly through email and she mentioned having fought with the locking clip, I never thought to ask her if she'd tried pulling her belts all the way out & checking to see if they locked. And I'm just not familiar with the model year at all...

I know that we did have a rental for a couple days when dd was a baby - would've been Sept 04, it was a Honda civic or accord, I don't remember which.. I just remember being peeved that the center belts didn't have switchable retractors and having to use the locking clip. Although the outboard belts probably had switchables I'd figure? Never tried the outboard ones...
