Scenera in 2002 Santa Fe

Dh installed dd's spare Scenera in my mom's 2002 Santa Fe, but 1. put it ff, and 2. installed it using LATCH in the center, pirating the outer anchors from the outboard seating positions--not allowed according to the car manual. Two problems--I can't get the thing out now (I have osteoarthritis in my hands, plus fibromyalgia which is really prominent also in my hands), not can my mom or dad (dh is not here), and I can't find the Scenera manual, so even if I do manage to get it out, I don't have the manual for getting it back in correctly.
If anyone can "talk me through it", that would be awesome!

Re: Scenera in 2002 Santa Fe

Does the back of the vehicle seat recline? If it does then recline it and it should loosen enough for your mom or dad to uninstall.
IF the back doesn't recline then kneel in the Scenera while your mom or dad pushes the button on LATCH strap to loosen it.

To install RF with LATCH (on an outboard seat) you need to push the LATCH strap under the seat cover and in FRONT of the crotch buckle. Make sure that the LATCH strap is threaded throught the rear-facing belt path.
Then make sure the the rear leg is in the recline mode so that the "butt" part of the seat is sitting on the vehicle seat. The Front foot of the seat will be pressed against the back of the vehicle seat. Then hook each LATCH buckle into their respective LATCH anchors in the vehicle seat. The LATCH strap will be UNDER the front foot. While pushing down firmly pull on the loop to tighten belt.

Post pics after you install so we can see if there's any obvious problems.
