radian 65 question

I just sold my daughter's Radian 65 carseat. I took great care of it and it has a few years left before it's expired, so I felt comfortable selling it. However, the person I sold it to just called and said to install in rear facing there is a detachable base. I don't remember there being a base. There could have been. It was installed a few years ago and it was in my mom's car and I had her take it to the fire dept to install it. Is there a base? Does it need a base to be rear facing? I just really don't remember one.

Yes, it has what's called a boot (a big hunk of plastic that attaches to the bottom front of the seat). It can not be used rear facing without it.

So the boot is the piece beneath the rear belt facing sticker? Crud. No clue where that is. Also not sure how I could forget taking that off when I moved her forward facing.
