I ordered the Safety 1rst complete air 65 LX for my husbands car because I wanted a safety 1rst complete air one and he liked the brown and green style so thats what I got. I didnt realize there was a difference until I decided to send the Britax one I just got yesterday back and get a safety 1rst for my car but the color i liked did not have 'LX' at the end. Is there any difference? should I invest the the extra 30$ and get the exact same one he has for my car?

I believe the LX models have a built-in recline feature as the only difference. Without it you may need to use a pool noodle to get the right angle for your child. My CA is just the 65 and I didn't have trouble installing it, and I do use a noodle.

:yeahthatlove: This is my understanding as well, the LX has a base and the regular does not. I have the non-LX and I do use one rolled towel for mine, but my son is 17 months and doesn't need a full 45 degrees anymore.

I also have the regular 65 and jsut use a towel to install. Ive heard even people who get the LX model with the recline base still have to use a towel because the recline isnt sufficient enough for rear facing.

Thank you. I think I'll just order another LX.. I did think the lever to recline was pretty neat. How much is it supposed to be reclined RF? I just put on the most reclined setting and put it in there- I didn't even think to see if there's a particular angle it's supposed to be at..

The general rule is 45 degrees for newborns, increasing up to as much as 30 degrees when they get older and have good neck control. Double check your manual to make sure your seat follows this guideline :)
