New considerations for Australian CRS standards
http://www.ntc.gov.au/filemedia/Repo...RISMay2007.pdf
If anyone (esp techs etc) gets a chance to browse through this lengthy document, I would be very interested to hear your comments on several points made in it. I found especially interesting the fact that in Australia, studies have not found a statistically significant increase in neck injuries in children between 6 and 12 months who are in a FF restraint. The document comments that this is likely due to the fact that top tethers have been used in Australia for a long time, vs other countries where they've only recently become available (therefore the data collected over a period of time would include children in non-tethered FF restraints). This makes physical sense to me, although it doesn't mean I'm ditching my RAs and putting my youngest DD FF in an Aussie seat when we go back! Anyway, I just had a few eye-opening moments reading this document, and thought others might appreciate the opportunity to read it.

Re: New considerations for Australian CRS standards
From what I have read (but don't ask where!!) the information they gathered on spinal injuries from FF children wasn't really that thorough. Goodness knows where I read that though but I wasn't terribly impressed by their "research". RF is totally still the way to go JMHO though.
