Now that DS2 is finally out of the hospital, I have finally gotten around to pictures of the TWE buckle as promised and added a pic of the back of the TWE pillow and of the MT buckle as well...
TWE Un-buckled:

MT Buckled:
Back of TWE pillow:
Now for the explanation behind the pics. As you can see, the straps feed into the back side of the buckles on the TWE. This has taken some getting used to as you have to flip the buckles in when fastening and it is just cumbersome for *me*. My DH doesn't have any issues with it. I just don't personally like it. The buckle itself appears to be exactly the same as on our FixWay (which I never have trouble with) but the FixWay has the straps threaded through the front side rather than the back.
On the MT buckle, you can see that when a child pushes down with two thumbs on the red button, it is MUCH easier for them to unbuckle themselves than on other seats where the button has to be pushed in. My 5-year old cannot get out of the TWE himself but a much younger child (think two or three) most likely has enough strength to get out of the MT.
The back side of the pillow just shows that there are very accessible instructions showing the various ways the seat can be installed. There are several threading method options for both FF and RF.
