Re: Car seat Recal

That is crazy! I can't believe 27,000 carseats recalled with 679 reports of the handles releasing and 160 injuries to children The recall should have been made a long time ago, this recall affects a huge number of seats. You would think they would have figured out to reinforce the handle after they had the joyride recall how many years ago! This is just one more reason I am not a huge Evenflo fan, especially of their infant seats.

Here is another thread where they have been discussing this same topic.

Re: Car seat Recal

I purchased an evenflo port about VI in 04 when i was pregnant with my son. few months later crash test determined it flew off the base in crash tests. I immediatlly discarded the base and just buckled in the set. I used this same carseat for my daughter in 06. I have come to not trust the infant car seat bases at all. why strap in a base and not the seat itself. if you look at the base it is two small clips holding in the seat to the base. to me, that's just not eough. I would rather have the belt holding my seat in. it get's to -40 here, those plastic pieces could crack and fail in cold weather... send shivers down my spine.... but this was off topic sort off. I just wanted to say I don't care for evenflo carseats sense...
