Angry mother

WHY under the heading "Top-Tethers" do you have written "Top tethers can be used alone". This is absolutely untrue. A tether mush be used with either the new latch system or a seatbelt. A car seat would fly around a car with only a top tether attached. PLEASE correct this error!

Re: mother

Darren, it's the 2nd sentance under the heading "Top-Tethers" here.

Re: mother

it does seem a bit misleading....it could be re-worded so nobody gets the idea and stops reading at that point that they can use the top tether with nothing else hooking the seat to the car's seat.

Re: mother

i realise what it means (that it can be used with a seatbelt instead of the lower anchors) but i can see where it would be misleading to an uneducated reader.

Re: mother

It's probably a typo and the word " not " was omitted.

No, it's definitely top tethers can be used alone...as in, top tethers can be used with seatbelts, you don't need the Lower anchors to be able to use a top tether....

Then I think it should be re-worded so as not to confuse anyone.
"Top tethers can be used alone, and they are also one of the components of the new LATCH system."
"Top tethers are also one of the components of the new LACTH system, and may be used alone without the latch anchors."

Re: mother

Or, "may be used alone when the child restraint is installed using the seatbelt."

Re: mother

Or,

Top tethers can be used with the lower LATCH anchors, or with the seat belt.

Or even "must be used" instead of "can be used"?

Re: mother

For the uninitiated, and having never used a car with LATCH, I definitely think that Sarah's wording is the least confusing!

Re: mother

Thank you all for spotting that. It was indeed poor wording.
