Radian RF Weight Limits

Okay...can someone please explain this to me...

So the Radians that have "SL" all rear face to 45lbs?

The radians made after September 2008 all rear face to 40lbs (meaning all XTs)?

And the radians made before then rear face to 35lbs?

Is that right?

Thank you guys so much. This website is GREAT.

Yes. well, sort of.

pre 12/07 rf to 33 lbs
01/08 - 08/08 have stickers that say 33 lbs, but SSK claims 35 lbs
post 09/08 rf to 40 lbs (yes, all XTs)
all 80SL and XTSL rf to 45 lbs
all 65SL only rf to 40

to add a little more confusion, I don't know of any changes that happened 12/07, other than they changed the manual. Theoretically, they should be 35 lb seats as well, but that change wasn't retroactive like the 40 lb one. :shrug-shoulders:

The exception: Radian 65SLs (DOM sept. 2009+) are still only to 40. Only the XTSL and 80SL RF to 45.

I'm a little confused. I have a 12/07 Radian 65... I just read the label and saw the 33lb RF limit  . Is it possible that it is okay to 35lb RF. I think I'll send an email to SSK - but I know the answer has probably already been given.

I think I need to shop for a higher weight RF seat.. DD1 fluctuates between 32.5 to 33.5lbs on any given day and love to ERF in my van.

Check with SK, but many of the first Radians (like, the first two plus years) were 33 pound seats. I know the 3/07 seat I have lent out is a 33 pound rear facing seat.

I know at the time they said that all seats made 1/08 and later were 35 lbs. whether labeled to it or not.

They may have since made it retroactive. The wording on their website seems to indicate such. I'd check with them.

**except in Canada** (just to completely add to the confusion!)

Canadian Radians (all versions except XT's) RF to 30lbs. All XT's RF to 35lbs. As far as I know, the "SL" versions are not available in Canada yet.

I don't know that they will be named "SL" at all, either, when they do get there. But isn't the XTSL becoming the "new 2010 model XT" over there, and will RF to 45?

I was going to ask this somewhere else! I went to their website, went into the Canadian part, even got the prices in canadian dollars so looked right, but they were quoting the 40 and 45 lb rear-facing limits!?!? Did they muck something up on their website?

This is true although the SL versions will be the same as the US SL versions...

And the SKJP website is showing them as already available... but only in old colours so I am confused. The retailer websites (like Junior Baby) show available in December for the new SL with new weight limits.
