4yo too tall for Diono Radian?

I've recently noticed that the straps on my 4.5 yo's Radian seem to be below his shoulders. Something similar happened with his older sister, who also has a long torso (I was never able to use her Radian as a booster because she was too tall for the seatbelt to fit properly).

What do you think? If he's too tall, what do I do? Really don't want to put him in a booster, and I'm annoyed that I spent money on the two Radians for my heavy and tall kids thinking they'd be able to stay in them much longer. I guess I could try the booster feature with him?

Radians allow use with the straps below the shoulders. If he's not complaining of discomfort, I'd continue to use the seat.

I would not booster a 4yo (and there is a 50# minimum to use the Radian in booster mode).

It looks like OP in in Canada and I'm fairly sure it's not allowed here to go over the top slots in the Radian.

I definitely wouldn't switch him to a booster but there are harnessed seats with higher top slots.

Yep, in Canada. He probably weighs 44-45 lbs and is 44" tall. I don't see him hitting 50 lbs anytime soon. Ugh. I hate that I have to buy another seat when I thought I was so clever getting a Radian!

An evenflo sureride or titan65 would be an affordable option that should give him two inches of shoulder height to grow. Evenflo secure kid, graco nautilus and britax pioneer/frontier are some other options. Good luck!

Does anyone know if there is a general measurement for a seated height for outgrowing a radian rxt? Like sitting on the floor and top if head is 24" or something?

My daughter measures just under 24" from bum to head, and 16" from bum to shoulders. She is about an inch away from the top slot of the RXT. So while it's not outgrown, I wouldn't buy one for a child with a 24" seated height measurement. My daughter is going to serve the rest of her harnessed time in a Sureride.
