frontier ct not fitting well into a traverse

we just bought the traverse because the van was getting so ripped up from the gravel roads and just wasnt ment for it, so we got the SUV. anyway the frontier car seat that my daughter rides in (3, and about 35 lbs) didnt go in as well as i had hoped the seat hangs over the edge of the captains chair. is that okay

How far does it hang over? I believe the Frontier allows 20% overhang.

Sometimes adjusting the recline of the vehicle seat or removing the headrest (if allowed) or even mashing the seat into the seatback while tightening can help, too.

i have adjusted the recline but it only goes so far in the traverse. and the head rest i tried to raise it up and take it off and it doesn't come off. i will check again the over hang. does anyone have picture of to much over hang so i have an idea

What Frontier do you have (XT, CT, SICT, original Frontier)? Can you show us a picture of the install?

If I recall correctly the head restraint in the Traverse is fixed and forward-leaning, making for a challenging install with the Frontier. Pictures will help.

i checked the hang over and it seems okay. but the back of the seat is not sitting flush with the back of the captains chair is that safe there is a gap between the car seat and the captains chair. i will take pictures here in a minute but i have never posted them before. and i posted another question about the car seat if you could have a read and let me know thanks!

okay well its not letting me post pictures. dont know why. but i can put my hand behind the back of the car seat. inbetween the car seat and captains chair.

Do you have the Frontier itself reclined (there is a handle on the front center of the carseat to adjust the recline position)?

yes its reclined, and the captains chair in the traverse is reclined to as far as it will go but they don't go back very far (and i tried but you can't take the head rest off). and there is still 3 in at least between the car seat and captains chair. is that safe? or does it have to be flush up against the seat?
