What's the deal with them. I know that they are not tested. But I'm wondering how they are a safety hazard. I was using them, then started researching a lot about carseats and took them off.
But the straps really are right up on ds's neck, and it seems super uncomfortable. Ok, I should say, it would be uncomfortable to me, he hasn't said anything either way.
I see why adding extra padding is bad, but I'm curious about the strap covers. If you can get the harness adjusted, and snug, is there still a problem?

Unless they came with the seat they weren't tested to work with it. So we don't know what would happen. Nothing could happen, they could slip and cause the harness to be improperly aligned on the child, who knows.

Some people have used socks with the toes cut off and slid them onto the harnesses. They're thin enough to not be a problem, and yet stop that edge from hitting the skin.
