Nuna Pipa for Airplane + Rental Car (no base)

Has anyone flown with their Nuna Pipa? We love ours but are concerned about setting it up without the base on a cross-country plane flight and in a rental car.

We are also open to recommendations for an alternative travel seat. My son will be just shy of 8months old when we go this Christmas. We want to practice with the Pipa or another seat before we go so we aren't trying to figure it out on the trip.

Thanks for any help.

We own a Pipa and I wouldn't hesitate one second to use it for air travel and in a rental car baseless.

Can you read back through your manual how to install it baseless with the european routing? Then practice in your own vehicles, or even grandparents to boost your confidence that you can do it.

Will you be travelling often and need an additional carseat once your son has outgrown the infant seat? If so, then buying a lightweight travel seat now, may also make sense.
