Question about convertible seats

Hi there,
By husband drives a chev Silverado extended cab. There is not much room for a car seat. Right now we are using the Britax b safe, but she's getting closer to the weight limit. Do you have any recommendations for a seat that would fit front to back well without me having to sit with my knees pushed into the dash?

Not knowing the additional details, the best recommendation that I have would be to look for seats that allow for multiple recline angles depending on the size of your kiddo. If she is reaching the weight limit on the B-Safe, I would assume that she is a bit older and can sit unassisted. In those cases, a seat with a more upright install is going to be huge for you.

In order of budget, my recommendations to try as you get started would be: Chicco NextFit, Graco Size4Me (and similar seats), Safety 1st Guide 65. or the Cosco Scenera NEXT. I know the Britax seats fit pretty well too, but I actually like Chicco and Graco better.

In my personal compact vehicle experience, we found that the Guide served our purposes. It actually gave us a little more room than we had with a Chicco Keyfit infant seat. I will say there are a few factors that lead to that decision that may not be as important to you: It is not the easiest seat to install, so not recommended if you are taking the seat in and out. The straps can be a bit twisty. It's also not my favorite forward facing seat, but it is nice and padded for a budget seat and has great height and weight limits. We were on a strict budget at the time, so I would review the link that the PP provided to see what fits for you.

We have a Guide 65 as a travel seat and it works pretty well in tight situations. It can be a little tricky to install, but still a lot easier than the Combi Cocorro that was our old travel seat, so I still think it's not too bad!
