Scenera on a plane

For those of you who travel with a Scenera how do you stop the buckle from being in the middle of your kids back?

Dd complained about the buckle for the whole flight (thankfully it was only an hour) & then cried after take off on the way home, so I ended up taking her out of her seat & she sat on my knee.

I tried using a belt extended but then she ended up with 2 buckles in the middle of her back.

It is my understanding that you can unbuckle the seat any time the seat belt sign is off, which would make it more comfortable. Another way to go about it is to put a blanket behind her, across where the buckle is. Of course, this isn't a direction from Dorel but my guess is that it's better than having her unrestrained completely :shrug-shoulders:
