Question SureRide unboxing - plastic piece?

Hi,

I just got the Evenflo SureRide, and unpacked it. There are no unboxing instructions (just the regular owners manual, which doesn't have any instructions about unboxing).

When I pulled back the seat cover (which you do to install it with a seat belt), I see that there is a plastic piece attached to one of the straps - it has a loop around one of the straps and is attached to the car seat as well. It looks like there were supposed to be 2 of them (because the one on mine is just on one side). Is this something that is supposed to be there? If so, would it be a problem that there is only one? Or is it something I am supposed to remove? Anyone else see this?

Also, there are 2 small foam pieces at the bottom of the car seat - are they supposed to be removed?

Thanks!

The foam pieces help with energy management in a crash. Leave them there.

The other thing you are talking about keeps the LATCH strap from coming off the seat completely and getting lost. There is only supposed to be one.

Mm, is the foam under the seat, where the rear-facing foot folds into the seat? If so, it's packing material and is meant to be removed. There should be a sheet (kind of like a flyer) attached to the harness along with the registration card that explains this.

Safeinthecar is right about the plastic piece. It slides along the LATCH strap, so it should be pretty easy to keep out of the way. Sometimes I forget to slide it and it makes the install very challenging! Lol!!
