Snugride 35LX in 2014 Ram 1500 (base measurement needed)

Hi all,

My wife and I are expecting our first child this August. We're thinking about going with the Graco Snugride 35LX, but im not sure if it will fit correctly in our truck.

Our 2014 Ram 1500 quad cab has the LATCH system, but the seats seem to be a little shallow, about 17 inches. I have read that 80% of the chair should be on the seat, but I cant seem to find any information on how long the bottom of the seat is.

Can you point me in the right direction here?

Thanks!

Welcome! Most of us would take this as the perfect opportunity to run to the store to measure the base, lol, but I realize the majority of the world sees that as excessive :D. The Graco website says the length is 28", but it doesn't specify if that's the base or the carrier or both measured together.

If you don't want to make a trip to the store, you can call Graco's customer service line at 1-800-345-4109 and ask them for the length measurement of the base.

Thanks!

I had seen the Graco website, but as you mentioned its not really clear if thats the over all length or the base length.

Great idea to give them a call! I'll do that later on today. Thanks again!

I put in your title you need the measurement, since Snugride 30/35's have the same base, hopefully someone will see it and chime in!

My Snugride 35 base is 18.5 inches. Part of that will be pushed into the seat back, so there shouldn't be very much over-hang, if any. My snugride 35 is from 2011, but I imagine the bases are still about the same length.

We have used the Snugride for 2 kids and will use it again this summer for #3. I have liked most things about it. My DS could still fit when he was past 2. My DD could still be riding in it if needed at almost 2. The one thing that was not great was the crotch strap being spaced quite far out and needing a washcloth rolled to keep newborn from sliding too far down. I think that the new ones have 2 crotch strap positions, so that shouldn't be a problem now. The base is very easy to install with LATCH or seat-belt and the carrier locks into it easily.
