Help? I HATE my 3 across booster setup

I have twin boys, aged six. One is very tall at 4'3" tall and approx 60 lbs. other is about 4' tall and 56 lbs. Daughter is 4 years old and 43.5"tall and 49 lbs.

Boys currently ride in Britax Parkway SGs and daughter just outgrew her convertible do she's riding in a Crack Turbobooster.

I hate this set up. It takes forever to buckle them in. With three across the buckles are hard to reach and they can't do it themselves.

We borrowed a minivan for a trip and the boys were able to buckle themselves in there. They can buckle themselves in their dad's car where they ride in Radians.

I drive a 2007 Honda Pilot. I don't want to use the third row. I'm thinking of buying CD a Diono. If for no other reason than it will free up some space to reach the buckles. It was much easier to buckle the boys in when she was riding in her Britax convertible. Honestly, if they weren't so darned expensive, I would buy three. Life would be so much easier if they could all buckle themselves in.

Am I not thinking straight? Anyone have any suggestions? They are in seats that seem to fit well.

Which britax convertible did she outgrow? Depending on which one a radian won't give you much additional harness height.

At almost 44" you won't get a long use out of the Radian. The top harness slots need to be at or above her shoulders.

The Harmony Defender, Evenflo Sureride, Britax Frontier and the upcoming Britax Clic tight convertible, all have taller top slots.

You're right, in the US Diono allows the harness to be below the shoulders, as long as the top of the ears are under the shell. It is not allowed here in Canada and I don't see how it could be comfortable anyway.

What law of physics magically changes when you cross the US/Canada border that makes it safe to have the straps above the shoulder here?

They use different test standards. I'd guess it might be differences in head excursion limits since that's likely what will change if the straps are below. That's just an uneducated guess though. I've seen lots of techs post that they aren't comfortable using it that way. Canada also mandates top tethers for all harnessed FF seats but it's optional (but strongly recommended) in the US.

In your PERSONAL opinion, are kids safer in a five point harness, tethered, where the shoulders are above the top strap positron or in a booster seat?

Seeing as Diono USA is the only manufacturer that even allows shoulder above the too slots, once a kid outgrows a harnesses seat by going over the top slots, I feel that they are safer in a booster.
