2009 Forester problem solving

I have three kids and need to get them in the backseat of a 2009 Subaru Forester. I have tried at CSFTL with no luck.

Seats I have: Sunshine Kids Radian (almost expired), Diono Radian, Cosco Apt, a bunch of LBBs that don't fit anyway.

My kids:

2.5 yo, 36" and 34 lbs. Long torso.

6 month old, 20 lbs and 28".

8 yo 54" and 60 ish lbs.

I cannot for the life of me get these kids in with the 8 yo in a booster. Right now we have Radian behind driver, Apt in middle, 8 yo on passenger side in nothing. Both carseats are installed with seatbelts. I tried a bubble bum but even that wasn't working.

Anyone? With actual experience with the awful backseat that is the 2009 Forester? Thank you in advance.

Is the 2.5 year old RF or FF?

The APT is a fairly wide seat, so I think my recommendation would be to try a Scenera NEXT instead. In addition to the bubblebum, you might check out the MiFold for the 8 year old.

If the 2.5 year old is FF (or will be soon) you could perhaps check out the IMMI Go. The Defender is also narrow, but not quite as much.

I have a 2011 forester with three across. My guess is that the apt is too wide to fit anything else beside it. The cup holders get in the way. You might try a scenera next for the baby, it is much narrower. I would also try two radians rearfacing plus a booster outboard.

Is the two year old rearfacing in the radian? I would try installing both the convertibles with the seatbelts to try to get it close to the door (the side bolsters are a bother but do what you can).

What lbb options do you have for the 8 year old? I've had good luck with a Cosco top side or the harmony youth booster in three across in that car.

2yo is FF. I misspoke and what I have is the Next, RF in middle.

The Incognito is low/flat but rather wide (I was surprised when we got ours). It wouldn't work well in most center seats if the seatbelt spacing is tight.

How was the Bubble bum not working? That is so narrow I can fit it between two harmony boosters in our Mazda3.

One thing to consider, sometimes the boosters are easier to buckle and fit next to seats (convertibles) that are up on a base. With the narrow base you can buckle 'under' the bulk of the seat. I am so far removed from convertibles these days that I'm not sure which would work best for that.

Also, with the 2yo FF putting the 2 radians next to each other may work to leave more room for the booster on the side.
