Positioning

I've always had my son's carseat in the middle position in the back seat of my Explorer. Recently a friend of mine told me that since my backseat splits that he would be safest on the side, is this true?

Center Position-

Generally, the safest spot is in the center, as long as your carseat fits well there.

Unless your vehicle owner's manual specifically says not to put a child seat in the center, then it should be OK.

One exception is that Evenflo recommends that some if its models NOT be placed in front of a fold-down armrest. If you have an Evenflo carseat and a fold-down armrest in the center, please check your carseat manual.

If you are still concerned, you should have it double checked by a certified local technician.

Thanks!
