Baby is in his own seat

There is an empty seat next to us!! Do I leave the handle up or down on the plane? We are in bulkhead seats. The first flight was one hour, and completely full, but the 11 hour flight had an empty seat next to us!! We are departing on 10 minutes.

And because the Baby Trend is narrower than the Chicco, it fits in well, even though it doean't clip. It sinks in deeply, and seems fine.

I don't know the official stance, but I would think the handle would just need to be in a locked position like it does in the vehicle.

Just follow your manual. The FAA has no official stance on handles. (If it's a situation where the handle is required to be up in the car but a flight attendant wants it down, I'd go ahead and do it, but otherwise, do what you want with the handle.)

The way home was wonderful. It was a night flight, and I really got to sleep. They charge more for bulkhead seats, so both times the seat next to us was empty! The aircraft crew were really nice about the seats. (I was surprised) It was on ElAl.
The 2 short flights of Montreal/ Toronto were both oversold, so baby was on lap for those.
