Go up to "User CP" and you can edit your signature. :)

This is the same format most of the other boards I frequent use, so it's a nice change for me.

The edit button should be on the bottom right of your posts (I'm assuming you mean the 'edit post' button), it may disappear after a certain number of minutes.

Yup, that's what I did! There's a box to "include signatures in posts" ... but the option to add/create a signature has disappeared =(

& the only 2 icons on my posts are "Quote" & "Quick Reply" =(

LOL--she's tongue-tied. It's medical term is ankylglossia. Her tongue was so short at birth that it didn't even touch her bottom lip. She couldn't breastfeed. We've done tongue exercises and it's stretched over time so she can cover her bottom lip with it now.

The edit function is enabled, but you must edit within 2 hours.

I am looking into the signature issue.

Aha, I was looking in the board features settings when I should have been looking at your user profile. Apparently, when your password was reset it changed you to being a user awaiting email confirmation. You must be a registered user to access the advanced features.

I changed you to a registered user so you should be able to access all the features now. If you received a confirmation email requesting a reply, you may ignore it.

Sorry!

Scatterbunny,
did you know that fixing a tongue tie is easy?
My sis is a pediatrician and she fixes them when the kids are teensy. It's an in the office procedure with a quick snip of the edge of the frenulum.
Does your doc not believe in doing them (One of the former docs in her practice used to not believe in them, called it 'unnecessary surgery' yet he did dozens of circumcisions/week hmmm...) or did you decide you didn't want it done or neither? Am I being too nosy? Sorry if I am... and feel free not to answer as well.

You aren't being nosy, or if you are, I'm not offended, LOL. :)

We were on state healthcare when Hayley was born, and they don't cover issues they consider cosmetic--they don't cover circumcision, either. Since she couldn't breastfeed I was given a referral to a specialist who said that as long as she could latch onto a bottle nipple, then she could get nutrition, and state healthcare wouldn't cover the procedure.

It was a real blow to me, it took three weeks for her tongue-tie to be diagnosed, she was five weeks early and only weighed 4 lbs. 7 oz. and after three weeks of pumping and bottle-feeding I couldn't do it anymore. After finding out the insurance wouldn't cover the clipping procedure I decided to quit pumping and switched to formula. It really contributed to the PPD I had. I couldn't even change Hayley's diapers for the first month or so, I was afraid I'd break her. Her dad had to do everything.

We were concerned she'd have speech problems because of it, but so far it doesn't seem to be the case. I think the stretching we've had her do has really helped.

Oh wow. I'm on state healthcare and I had no idea they didn't cover that sort of thing. I am so sorry that our medical system sees such little value in something as vital as personally nurturing your precious wee one. (I could REALLY go off on a tangent here, but I won't. Grrrr.) And three weeks? Sheesh. I feel for you with how horribly difficult those early days were.
Thanks for telling (nosy) me your story! :)

Thanks Darren -- I'll let you know if I'm still having issues, heheh

That really stinks for you, Scatterbunny =( One more reason to make me want to visit my friend in Denmark to see about moving there {LOL} She says parents {married or single} get child support from the government & 6 weeks paid vacation each year, plus a whole YEAR off for BOTH parents after a baby is born! Not to mention free college education & medical care & her taxes really aren't as high as I thought they'd be ... they have less depression & violent crime, etc. *SIGH* Not that I don't love America, but I loved it more before I was a parent & before I was diagnosed with a chronic illness @@ ANYWAY....

Thanks for your kind words, both of you. :)

Denmark sounds like heaven! I've recently been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADD. I don't have insurance at all (we make too much to qualify for state insurance now), Hayley is on her dad's insurance. The health department is working with me to find the cheapest meds, but therapy would help the most and that's just unaffordable with no insurance.
