Evenflo Chase?

Once again, hubby's aunt asked if I could use her twin's old carseats (from the other car this time), of course, I accept, since I accept any and all freebies!

These seats are Evenflo seats. I googled the model number, and came up with the Evenflo Chase. However, all the pictures and stuff I see say that the Chase has armrests, and these seats do not have any. Does anyone know if they are detachable?

We're currently using the Platinum CarGo, still harnessed. I like it as a car seat, but not thrilled with it as a booster. I think I'll like the Evenflo better...

Any opinions on this seat?

Thanks!

How old is your child?

The Chase is a fine FF seat harnessed to 40 lbs, but it does not make a good booster! And I think that if you DO use it as a booster, the armrests are necessary.

Like a pp said, some versions did/do not have armrests.

I liked it as a harness seat and prefer it as a booster seat over the Graco Cargo... although I prefer a dedicated booster over both of those options. ;)

The Chase's armrests are purely for comfort. When used as a booster, you thread behind them anyway.

I have a Vision (same seat) and my younger DS used it as a booster occasionally last summer. It's not awful....seatbelt fit was ok on him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's close to being too tall for it by now.

He's four now, he weighs 35 lbs. The seat was manufactured in '04, it does seem to have some sort of slot where the armrest could go.

We do have an Evenflo Big Kid booster that my 8 year old is using, he'll probably move to that when big enough, as my 8 year old fell in love with a Princess TurboBooster, anyways! LOL

I wanted to make sure I had the right model, too, so I could look up the instructions for it...

Thanks!
