Hi.
My 2 year old and I are going to visit my boyfriend in another state and we will be driving around in his single cab pickup.
I prefer to keep my 2yr old rear facing whenever possible. My question is what do I need to know about having/putting his convertible carseat into a single cab pickup? I know the airbag needs to be turned off but besides that I dont know what differences there would be from a normal backseat car. Can he be rear facing still? Where should his carseat be (passage seat or middle)? What other things are important to know in this situation? Just want to make sure he is as safe as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Ok. You may only put the child seat in the passenger seat, not center. The switch on the dash MUST be turned to airbag off. It is safest for him to continue to rear face. If the seat will not safely fit rear facing you should still turn the airbag off and use the top tether as well as the seatbelt. Tether anchor will be on the back wall. Check the manual if needed.

The center lap belt is not a safe place for an adult to ride. Since the manual instructs not to use that position for a child seat, there is no safe way for more than 2 people to ride in this vehicle.
