Question Grandparent needs carseat advice

We are grandparents of a 27lb 9 month old boy. We are frequently picking him up, taking him places and transporting him to help out Mom and Dad. We need a carseat that we can easily switch between cars, without huge effort both of us have SUV's. Right now we have a Diono and it is very difficult to figure out how to put it in and out of the car. Can you help us?

The Britax convertibles are very easy to install. You could also look at the Graco MyRide or MySize70/Headwise seats.

The problem with a lot of the easy to install seats is that they are very heavy, and expensive. Might I suggest you get two car seats one for each car so you don't have to uninstall? I would suggest looking into the Evenflo SureRide/Titan 65, it's under $100 and will last your grandchild a long time, probably the entire "life" of the seat before it expires in 6 years. While it's not the easiest seat to install, if you go to a certified technician (safekids.org) they can show you how to install it properly and you can leave it in the car for the majority of the time.

If you for whatever reason don't want a car seat installed on a more permanent basis and budget isn't a problem, look into the new Britax Click Tight Marathon, it's a super simple install but heavy to move back and forth.

I really like this suggestion.

Two cheaper and longer lasting seats can mean that you don't have to swap them out all the time. The more times you need to move the car seat, esp when in a hurry, the more likely you are to make a mistake or cut corners.

The Evenflo Sureride is a wonderful option that will last a very, very long time! He will likely still fit in it at 6 years old, b/c the harness goes so tall.
