3 across in 2013 Honda Pilot

I have a 6 year old and just adopted 6 month old twins. My daughter is currently harnessed in a Britax Frontier 85 installed with the shoulder/lap belt in the center. I need 2 RF convertible seats for the boys that will either sit outboard or driver and center and move my daughter to passenger. What seats would work best with this configuration in the second row of a 2013 Honda Pilot? Thanks so much!

Hi,

Congrats on the babies! :)

How much are you hoping to spend on the boys' car seats?

Your 2nd row is quite wide - you can fit a lot of different seats, even with a big Frontier in the mix.

I think what I would do is get two Radians and install one in the middle using the slightly off-centre LATCH anchors, and put the other behind the driver, again using LATCH. You can use Angle Adjusters to make the seats more upright as long as the babies have decent head control. That leaves the Frontier on the passenger side on the 40 portion of the 2nd row. You will have loads of room to install the Frontier, and/or down road buckle it in booster mode because the narrow middle Radian is bumped slightly towards the drivers side.

That is assuming you want to buy two Radians.. you may not want to. Post back with your thoughts. :)

I am not opposed to the Radian. That should last them until booster time so the expense would be justified. I was nervous that it would be too big, but had not heard about the angle adjuster. I will have to check that out. The whole twins thing kinda took us by surprise. We are in borrowed seats now, but were looking for something permanent. Now to convince my 6 year old that she doesn't have to sit in the middle...

Thanks!

I think anything would fit fine in the middle row. I have a 2005 Pilot and have 2 Britax Frontier 85's (very wide) and a Britax Boulevard. When babies, I had 3 Peg Perego Infant car seats.

I have a 2013 Pilot and it's been easy to fit pretty much any configuration in the middle row. I've done a FR 90 center with Britax convertibles outboard with ease. If your oldest likes being center and can buckle himself in, it's much easier to leave him center and put the RF babies both outboard. You have tons of flexibility with the convertibles, so I'd just pick which ever ones you like and I'm sure you won't have any problems. Any favorite seats you're wondering about?

(Whoops, just noticed this was an older thread bumped up!)
