Please help: Proper Newborn Recline Angle?

We have a Mountain Buggy which we are able to adjust angles across the full spectrum. It is my understanding that newborns are to be nearly fully reclined as they are unable to support their heads at decreased angles. Our DD hates to be reclined due to gas issues in her belly and prefers to be more upright. I know our infant car seat reclines at a 45deg angle so is it safe to have the Mtn Buggy seat at a 45 deg angle? I ask this because companies like Maclaren, have strollers that are not compatible from birth, what angles are these seats at that they are not to be used by an newborn?

Thank you all for your help! Just trying to protect DD and keep her happy and comfortable.

Re: Please help: Proper Newborn Recline Angle?

DS2 had gas issues from newborn to 4mths old.

the infant car seat back is hard while the stroller seat back is soft. so while DS2 was perfectly comfortable in his cosco scenara rear facing, his head was slumped in his maclaren techno xt and graco duoglider when incline to similar angles. what worked for us was to fold a bath or hand towel and tuck it under his head for an incline of about 15 deg (165deg). we had the seat totally flat (180deg) before putting the towel under his head.

you can ask your paed too at the 1mth, 2mth well baby checkup or just give your paed a call. the paed will be able to assess whats the angle that is best for your child's gas issues.

We put a Snuzzler in the stroller (Dreamer Design Manhatthan and MBUD) for DD2 when she was a newborn. We had her flat if she was asleep, but even the flat setting in the stroller isn't quite flat.

Re: Please help: Proper Newborn Recline Angle?

thanks for the help and sorry for the delayed response. With temps in the 80's and high humidity, the snuzzler is way to hot. we are still playing with flat angles at this time. thank you all for your suggestions!
