Aton Q Base Issue

Hi all,

I'm having an interesting issue with the level indicator on the base. Two months after I installed the seat, I noticed the red ball was no longer in the green, but in the red, indicating that I had to raise the back of the base off the seat more. I made the adjustment and the ball was back in the green zone. A few weeks later, the level was off again, indicating that once again I had to raise the back. When unlatched the base to take a look at it more closely, and to reinstall it, I noticed that the ball inside the level was not moving very smoothly as I tilted the base from side to side. It was very ridged and it took a lot to get the ball to move, I had to tilt the base nearly on its side to get the ball to move. From my experience with levels, the ball is supposed to move freely and smoothly, so it can move along with any slight changes in angle.

This level is ineffective, as it seems it is unable to indicate what is level and what is not. As it stands now, the height adjustment in the back of the base is elevated as far as it can go, and the ball is still indicating the back still needs to be higher.

Has anyone encountered this with their seat, or know anything about what the problem could be? Any suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks!

I've heard of it with either this seat or another with a similar recline indicator.

Have you contacted Cybex? I know it's the weekend, but that's step one.

Thank you both for quick replies :).

I called Cybex yesterday morning and they are sending me a new base to arrive within 2 weeks. Not immediate customer service for a defective product, oh well.

It's wonderful they're sending you a new base, and as the base isn't a required part of the seat, I don't think they need to send it super fast.
