bar?

I have heard that they are coming out with new car seats that have a bar on them. But I haven't found anywhere that mentions this. Does anyone know anything about this?

Maybe

Is the LATCH the only new feature coming up in the near future?

thanks.

Thanks Caviller. I was suspecting that the salesperson who told me about the bar was meaning the LATCH system. I ahevn't found anywhere else that mentions about the bar. IS the LATCH the only new feature coming in the near future?

I think so...

It is certainly the only new feature mandated by law. Of course, each carseat manufacturer may have other new features, but I'm not aware of anything like a bar on any new models.

If you do find that it is some other new feature, please visit us again and let us know what it is.

Thanks!

anti-rebound bar on the new britax companion and galaxy seat

check www.britaxusa.com under "what's new" and look at the companion infant seat and the galaxy convertible seats. they have "anti-rebound" bars, similar to seats in australia. I don't know if that's what he was talking about, but it might be worth a look.

Ah, that could be it-

This is a nice feature. The Britax versa-tether also provides similar restriction of backward movement when used in the "Swedish Method". The now discontinued Fisher Price Stay In View infant seat also had an base with a high back that acted similar to an anti-rebound bar.

I suspect we will be seeing more infant and convertible seats with this type of feature in the future.

not sure

I am not sure if that was the bar that the salesperson was referring to. But both Julie and Caviller have given me info that I wasn't aware of before. Thanks tons to both of you.
