Welcome!

I have put a number of different models of rear-facing carseats in various minivans. While compatibility is not guaranteed, most will fit.

I personally have a rear-facing Roundabout in the middle row of my Odyssey minivan. I am curious to know if you were told that you could not install a rear-facing Britax seat in the 2nd row of a minivan, and if so why not. A photo and more information is here:

Most minivans have the ability to move the seat forward/backward and recline the chairs in the second row. Plus, most models also have LATCH. Combined, that usually means there is a good chance to install any particular carseat.

If you are purchasing a minivan, you might also like to visit our Minivan Safety page:

Good luck, and please ask again if you have more questions!

What brand is your van?

I just installed a Britax Marathon (a rather large seat), rear-facing, in the middle row of our '01 Grand Caravan. It was a tight fit, but it is in the van. What is the problem?
