rear-facing seat too high?

I have a question about a rear-facing infant seat. If it is placed, with a base, in a van's low back second row bench, can it be too high? Right now, if the seat were in a crash, the infant's head area would not be hitting the vehicle's seat back because it is so high. Is this a problem?

I do not see a problem with this.

In fact, some people might take comfort in the fact that it WOULD NOT hit the vehicle seat back...

In any case, rear-facing infant and convertible seats are the safest way for children to travel up to the limits of the seat. As long as it is installed properly, your baby will be very safe.
