is there any evidence to suggest that one color of car may be safer or less safe than other colors? we are considering red for visibility, but does it matter?

For visibility-

Choose bright yellow, lime green or anything in between. Those colors are easiest to see in low light, and also the reason many ambulances and fire trucks are switching to those colors. Unfortunately, its not easy to find family cars in those colors...

I had a red car and people never saw me :(. Granted, it was a little Honda Civic hatchback, but I was always so amazed when people would pull out right in front of me as if I wasn't there.

If you live in an area where you have snow. then you want to stay away from white.

Heather, with your red car did it have day light running lights?

Nope, it was an '89. Hehe, I learned my lesson about turning on the lights during the day and forgetting about them.
